AUSTIN — Texans: Are you really married?
Maybe not.
Barbara Ann Radnofsky, a Houston lawyer and Democratic candidate for attorney general, says that a 22-word clause in a 2005 constitutional amendment designed to ban gay marriages erroneously endangers the legal status of all marriages in the state.
puckerup America
This is just another nimrod liberal running around Texas trying to create a name for herself by misrepresenting what a republican ag approved as wording for a constitutional amendment. It states:
"This state or a political subdivision of this state may not create or recognize any legal status identical or similar to marriage."
Seems pretty clear to me... Nothing identical or similar to marriage. The recognition of marriage itself is a given. If the state didn't want to recognize marriage itself, it would have said, "...marriage or any legal status identical or similar to marriage." But, it doesn't say marriage itself.
Oh well, maybe she can roll a few liberals with this little circus.
There was also note of a judge saying it was unconstitutional because it denied same-sex marriages the right to divorce. Again, ridiculous. Consider yourself divorced already if you move to a state that doesn't recognize same-sex marriage. Either that, or file for divorce in the state you married...

Unfortunately, Married BEFORE 2005, your Grandfathered in!
